PointUI Phone Ver 1.0.08

Remember how i loved PointUI Phone and its unique new dial pad for Windows Mobiles, and then how i didn’t like it due to various limitations and bugs? Well, i love it again!

PointUI released an update on November 17th and have introduced a few new settings, improved the functionality, and fixed various bugs. To think they actually listen to the feedback! Included in this new build is the missing scroll capabilities when using the T9 capabilities for the keypad to search for a contact by name, as well as the ability to use the hardware buttons to answer/reject calls – which was a bit annoying. Xtrakt – A 3D Game for Xperia

Now who was it that insisted that Xperia lacked a 3D chip? Thanks to itje for basing his latest Custom ROM on the leaked R3AA ROM and seperately providing CABs to some of the goodies available in the new ROM version, you can get your hands on ‘Xtrakt’ - a new 3D game by Sony Ericsson – right now! The game has really great graphics and runs quite smoothly on the device. Though it warns not to run any other applications when playing the game, it ran just fine with SPB Screenshot running besides it. Best controlled with a stylus, you control the main character of the game on a future motorcycle destroying monsters. Doesn’t sound too appealing, i know, but the game is actually good! Better than many games that i’ve played on my iPhone and opens the door to better gaming on Windows Mobile. SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 – A Quick Review

SPB has finally released Mobile Shell 3.0 and simply put, it is Amazing! Once installation completes and the shell is launched, you are taken to a sleeker version of SPB Mobile Shell 2.0 home with message information, notifications, calendar, and weather. This screen is known as the Professional Home screen. But wait! with the flick of a finger up the screen, the home screen is switched to the lifestyle home screen which provides a completely different look and feel. This lifestyle home screen is fully customizable allowing the user to place widgets and application launchers of their choice on the screen as needed. Apart from application shortcuts and widgets, the user can also add calendar entries, images, contacts, and more. Furthermore, the lifestyle home screen is split across three pages – flick to the right or left to change to the page – thus allowing you to manage similar widgets on the same page. Xperia – Software Update

Update : Generic UK ROM has been updated . What? ‘Software Update’? Did you read it right? The answer is YES! After much debate against Sony Ericsson for not releasing any patches or updates since the release of Xperia, we finally have an update coming our way. PavelX1 at XDA Forums is uploading all the new ROMs onto Rapidshare for us to download. What changes, enhancements, and fixes does this R2 version of the software update include?
